5th grade parents only: Junior High girls basketball tryouts has been canceled today. Tryouts will be moved to Friday afternoon after school. CHS will have a 5th grade parent meeting for all incoming 6th graders Thursday night at 6:00 at Choudrant High School.

From Choudrant High School: Due to rain, the junior high softball tryouts are moved to RPAR this afternoon. Students will be called out of class at 2:30 to ride the bus to RPAR. Tryouts are closed to parents. All athletes will ride the bus back to CHS Softball Complex after tryouts. Parents can pick them up at Choudrant High School Softball Complex at 5:30. There is a varsity softball banquet tonight, so we ask that you please pick your child up promptly at 5:30pm from CHS..

Parents: Act 266 of the 2023 legislative session requires that all kindergarten students be screened for characteristics of dyslexia in the second half of kindergarten. In order to meet the requirements of this mandate, the Shaywitz DyslexiaScreen™ will be administered by your child’s teacher before the end of this academic school year. Your child’s teacher will complete the screening based upon their observations and knowledge of your child. The results of this screening will be shared with parents and guardians by the end of the academic school year. If you have any questions or concerns please contact Mrs. Martin.

Upcoming Dates to Remember: 4th & 5th grade CES cheer clinic and tryouts are May 8-10. Awards Day Schedule: May 15 Awards 5th grade - 8:15 PreK - 10:30 K - 1:00 May 16 Awards 4th grade - 8:15 1st grade -10:00 3rd grade - 11:30 2nd grade - 1:00 Last day of school is May 23, report cards will be sent home as well. We were unable to reschedule field day. The weather did not cooperate with us this year.

Due to the high probability of rain the pre-K field trip to the zoo is being postponed to May 21. I apologize for any inconvenience this may cause. If you do not give your permission for your child to go, please let their teacher know.

Tomorrow is the deadline to sign up for the developmental basketball camps at CHS with Coach Roberson. There are 3 camps for girls from 8-12. Snacks and t-shirts are provided and your girls will get small group instruction with varsity coaches and players. Each camp is limited to 12 spots. Bus 72 & 34 parents: These 2 buses may be running a little later than normal due to construction and having to take a different route.

Donut Dash is tomorrow!! If you bought a shirt, don't forget to wear it. If you didn't buy one just wear a Choudrant spirit shirt. We will be running at Choudrant Elementary and will have the carline area blocked off. This will help so it's a flat area. Only CES students will be allowed to run but we encourage parents to come and cheer on our racers. We have decided to have PreK-1st just run a 1/2 mile and 2-5th will run the mile. Parking: Please park on one side of Walker Road closest to the playground. You may park in the teacher parking lot and overflow will be in the church parking lot.
