Welcome to Ruston High School where our goal is to maximize every student’s learning experience. With a current enrollment of approximately 1,320 students, academic opportunities for our Bearcats include three levels of most core classes, over sixty hours of dual enrollment credit, multiple CLEP tests, and numerous Advanced Placement courses. We also offer a variety of electives, including new course offerings in the fields of engineering, health occupations, and radio broadcasting. Our numerous extracurricular activities ranging from clubs to athletics allow our students to excel beyond the classroom. Boasting a four-year graduation rate that exceeds 90 percent, Ruston High also earned a School Performance Score of 100.3, earning us the distinction of being rated as an A school by the Louisiana Department of Education. Established in 1921, Ruston High School continues to prepare our Bearcats for the 21 st century linking the traditions of the past with the challenges of the future while pursuing rigor, relevance, and relationships.
